  • That is a great greenhouse. I'm excited to try some aquaponics. how difficult is aquaponics without all the automation? I thought that I might mention that a small pop can heater would add a lot of heat to your greenhouse. They can be made for practically nothing and use only energy from the sun. a search for pop can heater/furnace will show many diy designs. great video thanks for posting it.

  • @TheOkcHandyman The automation isn't necessary but allows me to leave the system for extended periods of time. Adding solar heat can help, but during the winter, there isn't enough solar gain for this type of building to offset the loss during the night or bad weather.

  • great video! Nice integration. whats your grow medium for the root veg?

  • @JayaTerma some of it is crushed granite. Most of it is now Expanded Shale.

  • have you tryed peas they like it cool

  • @moecat1000 Yes, they grow great. Somewhere, one of these videos shows them growing.....

  • @web4deb make what, pls finish your sentence.

  • How about solar evacuated tube in floor heating? Uses the sun and BOILS the water. Produces lots of heat even in coldest of winters.

  • try a solar heating pannel also put compost under aquaponics barrels, this will generate heat for free...

  • @Measure7 You have a point, but there's no doubt that the cost to heat the greenhouse to a suitable temperature for growing far exceeds the cost of food that is produced. ;-)
