I have just been told that the tenor is not Savchuk. It is Nikolai Polozkov. The basso profundo is Vladimiri Fyodorov, the only one that the Ensemble had. He was a soloist of the choir (did not sing whole songs as soloist), but Polozkov was a soloist of the Ensemble.

what a stupid discussion about where an instrument or a song start or created. the Incas or aymaras created a beautiful instrument out of the guitar the Spanish conquistador brought this instrument is the charango. It doesn't matter where the instrument come from the music, the songs are important. They united the people. Maybe the guitar was originated in India I don't know, buy I love it.

Savchuk sang this? Very impressive!!!
This is one of my favorite Red Army Choir songs. I love the changes in volume, in intensity.... And Savchuk's voice is so sweet and clear.

As a Ukrainian-American I have no great love for the Red Army. However, they sure could sing and dance!

para, I'll take my Bandura. The Bandura were devised by Kozaks that were blinded in battle. Theybecame minstrels. Russia had nothing to do with the development of the Bandura. (Unless you wan't to count stealing it) It's a pure Ukrainain instrument. =Stefan=
