IVAN DOLAC - Island Hvar - Croatia

Ivan Dolac is a tourist village situated on the southern part of the island Hvar, 10 km from Jelsa, 20 km from Stari Grad and 38 km from the town of Hvar. Ivan Dolac is famous for its grape-growing fields that give wine of exceptional quality. Except good wine, Ivan Dolac is rearing with its environment, full of aromatic plants (lavender and rosemary) and other flora of Mediterranean climate.

Its gravel beaches (the most famous are Šuplja stina and Lučišće near Sveta Nedjelja, Jagodna, Paklina, Petarčica) make it a very attractive destination for all those who want a peaceful vacation without the city rush. Picturesque Mediterranean natural surrounding and its closeness to the sea , offer you the immense varieties of sights , day and night long, and make the place an attractive resort for your holidays. There is a market and several restaurants in the village - everything else can be found in the nearby town of Jelsa.

Bio sam tamo prije 3 godine, jebeno mjesto. Ako ste u paru, nema boljeg mjesta nego dole otić. A more, čisto da ne može čistije bit. Na plaži po noći možete nać grude soli ko snijeg, koliko je čisto. Sjećam se kad smo se vraćali doma, stali u Baškoj Vodi da se idemo okupat. More se s onim ne može uspoređivat, izgledalo je zeleno, prljavo, reko stari moj ja nejdem u tu žabokrečinu, haha

Sad what happened with Ivan Dolac in last 10 years. Small poetic beach with left to right just original rocky coast except one old pier was turned by concrete, few trucks of little stones and jackhammer into "another tourist destination". It pretty lost its unique look and genius loci. I used to jump from that rock lying there on the beach to the shoulder-deep water near two water-made little caves. Now it is gone only to stuck more tourists there.

I were there in August too (second week of the month, right after the rainy weeks), and the water was great. A bit cool for the fist few minutes, but just great!

Loved it! And hell yeah, definitley on of the most beautiful places on the planet. :)

I pity the fool (those 3 who dislike this vid.). XD
