Royal Garden Blues by Edmond Hall's Blue Note Jazz Men on a 12" 78 rpm Blue Note record. Over 4 minutes of lively jazz featuring Big Sid Catlett on drums and James P Johnson on piano. Recorded in 1943. Enjoy!
I never knew that Blue Note Records also recorded Traditional Jazz. His "RVG"-reissues only contain late Bop, Hard Bop and a bit of Soul Jazz. Anyway, great stuff.
The trumpet solo in this tune has some resemblance to the Dipper Mouth Blues trumpet solo.

It's amazing how "modern" James P. Johnson sounds.
