@Hurtfelder Well, in professional racing, you either adapt or die. I guess Buell died. And again, You'll never see a Harley or Buell in Moto GP. Why? Because they would lose.

The good news is those "loud pipes save lives" and so you can get away with wearing thongs and a potato chip on your head.

Buell won the championship at Daytona in 2009. Harley dropped them because they switched to the Rotax engine. No way was Buell a flop.

@bud95 First off, I'm not a douchebag. I can appreciate the style of a nice Harley. BUT, they just aren't built for the same purposes. You don't see retirees riding the latest ZX, YZF or CBR, and likewise you'll NEVER see a Harley being ridden by Valentino Rossi or any other legendary racer. When Harley tried to get into the performance bike business, they made Buell, and we all know how big of a flop that was. (Buell went bankrupt a few years ago)

@01parrott I just bought a built Nightster from a guy who also has an '09 R1 Turbo. He said him and his brother would go race the 2 all the time and they were always dead even.... earth to douchebags Japanese sport bikes are not the greatest fastest things in the world. Coming from a guy who has both. Ninja 636 and Nightster.

The R1 didnt even try. Plus harley sucks ass. Back in the day yes they were good in what they did, but lets face it. American made products suck now and days! Its like everything else people buy now, your buying the name. Its not any better than any other bike company. Untill america comes out with a bad ass sport bike, Im sticking to my Kawi.

Harley smokes R1... When hell freezes over. The great thing about having a bike like an R1 is you don't have to prove yourself to anybody. Because you know they'd lose.
