Its one World Series, Bill Buckner made a mistake, the Red Sox aren't going anywhere.
-
Has Larry David made us Brits understand the importance of the world series?poor bill although good catch in CURB.

i want to fart in Buckners mouth..... DIEEEEEE!

The World Series was not on the line anymore when Buckner made his error. The Sox had been within one strike of the title when Stanley threw the wildpitch - that was the TRUE failure.
-
All that matters is the Texas Rangers are better than both teams.

One of the most gritty tough players in history. Only idiots judge the guy on one play and ignore a great career and the fact that without Buckner the Sox would have never even made the playoffs.
Plenty of blame to go around in '86. Macnamara for pulling Clemens early, for leaving Shiralidi in too long, for leaving Buckner in. Then for leaving Hurst in too long in game 7, for not using Boyd in game 7. Then there's Stanley's wild pitch in game 6, leaving 14 on base, etc. etc.

Buckner and Rose in the hall of fame

Most of you fat asses couldn't make it to first base let alone the world series.
No, Bucker's error did not cost the Red Sox the title. Calvin Shiraldi gave up 3 straight hits, and Bob Stanley threw the wild pitch that allowed the tying run to score in Game 6. Where are the goat horns for those two? And in Game 7 when the Red Sox lead 3-0 in the 6th, Bruce Hurst gave up 3 earned runs to allow the Mets to tie the game. Then Shiraldi allowed the go-ahead HR to Ray Knight. Plenty of other goats Buckner made 1 error only! But the title wasn't dependant on that one play
