Fantastic Guitarist ! He played the riffs on Dance Dance Dance.

I always thought it was so cool to know he was a Beach Boy, even as just a replacement for Brian on a tour, and as a session hand

@Okiemom50 The judge in the case thought differently.....

That was not a rip off. It was an attempt to praise Chuck Berry"s style. They blended The Four Freshmen style with the style of Chuck Berry to get their style. Copying is the highest form of flattery.
Besides, Chuck was credited on the record.

great video! it goes to show you he was a great talent till he got on the highway to hell, the last 25 yrs. he hasn't looked or sounded anything like he used to but he can still master a guitar and draw a hot crowd.

No it wasn't! That lick is a straight Chuck Berry rip off.

Surfer Girl, what a beauty.
To clear things up: Glen Campbell played on a number of Beach Boys songs as a session guitarist from about 1963-66 (including "Good Vibrations"), and Brian Wilson produced a great single for him, "Guess I'm Dumb", in 1965. He toured as a replacement for Brian Wilson in late 1964, I believe, after Brian's first nervous breakdown caused him to stop touring (therefore he did play bass onstage). Ultimately Bruce Johnston replaced Campbell. Hope that helps.
Great clip, thanks for posting!
