Trailer for the documentary "The Right To Be Wrong: Inherit the Wind and the 1925 Scopes Trial"
This twenty minute production looks at the 1950 play Inherit the Wind and explores how this play has become the de-facto history of the 1925 Scopes Trial even though it is not a historically accurate portrayal of the actual event. Using interviews with legal and scientific scholars, Dayton Tennessee residents, as well students and teachers from our own Timberlane Regional High School, along with archival photos from Bryan College and footage the schools production, this piece explores the themes of the play as well as the popular misconceptions of the actual history of the Scopes Trial as perpetuated by the play. This piece is currently in the final phases of post production and will be ready for distribution within the month. After seeing early edits, Mr. Tom Davis, Information Director for Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee says It captures the essence of what Inherit the Wind is all about and Edward J Larson says It is perfect for any class reading or putting on this play.
