If a person wants a cheap way to see Hong Kong Island, all they need is two Hong Kong dollars (about twenty-five cents), and the time to ride a tram. There are several lines on the island. Two of them terminate at the Happy Valley racetrack (for horses). One line comes from Central, the area most people think of when they think of Hong Kong, and the other from the other end of the island, at Shau Kei Wan. Or you can jump on the tram at any point between the two. This ride is from North Point to Happy Valley, condensed to some of the more interesting aspects, in an attempt to capture the atmosphere. A seat on the upper deck, in the front, is best.
