Master workshop with Sujata Mohapatra- celebrated disciple/dancer of Legendary Guru, Padmabhibhushan Kelucharan Mohapatra. Pallavi or "blossom/elaborate" in Sanskrit, is a pure dance work centered on the interplay between dance and music- the melody (raag) and rhythmic step patterns develop in unison, highlighting the mood, notes, and temporal structure of the composition. This workshop explored dance preparation, specialty steppings, transitions between still poses into mobile patterns, and the distinctive moods of Guru Kelucharan-ji's pallavi's.
Hello, I"m a student of Kuchipudi dance, but I'd like to also learn Odissi dance. I have been waiting to find a good Odissi teacher from India and just recently learned about Sujatha Mohapatra. Is it possible for you to send me information about her next workshop(s) in the U.S.? I'd appreciate it so much!
Sincerely,
Akhila
