Dennis Morgan was one of the handsomest actors who ever lived. His beautiful voice is such a treat and I am so glad he sang in just about all of his movies. Being Irish myself I do appreciate an Irishman such as he was and he makes any song very special. I have seen this movie, too, and love it. Thank you for posting. - Paula

@peteranders48 I also have Three Cheers for the Irish. You You Darlin is background music in that movie, if you listen clearly. My mother was mistaken however when she told me he sang this song in that movie, obviously it was Tear Gas Squad. He was her favorite, and she brought me up with his movies too. What a cutie, I must agree with her. They simply don't make stars like this anymore. What an endearing lovely sentimental song.

Ooh does this bring back memories. I loved him when I was young and still now that I am 78 yrs. old. so handsome and a beautiful voice. Don;t sing songs like this any more.

Thanks for posting this. The lovely melody was composed by my grandfather, M.K. Jerome, and the lyric, which is slightly different (the bridge goes: 'When I see the sweetness of you, I'm lost in a spell...") is by Jack Scholl. Among the assembled-listeners are Mary Gordon, Gloria Dickson and the awesomely-handsome John Payne (who looks none-too-amused!) Apparently someone remembered this, because it was recently used in "Divne Secrets of Ya Ya Sisterhood"! R.J.

I do have the complete film and think that it is very entertaining. It even has Superman in it.
The song is a lovely composition.
