While fishing on the Little Susitna River in Alaska, Smokee Jo Barkoskie hooks up a fresh King Salmon. His buddy, Larry Csonka, NFL Hall of Famer and host of "NAPA's North to Alaska" on Versus Channel, is surprised as the big fish jumps into the boat seconds after being caught. With a lip full of sharp hooks, the thrashing fish sticks one hook into the leg of guide Greg Acord. Larry, with reflexes honed by years as a professional athlete, immediately identifies the danger and grabbing the fish bonker, neutralizes the threat, thus avoiding further injury and pre-tenderizing the fish for that evening's meal.

  • there using braid most common for kings in alaska mostly for back trolling kwiks, whick is what there doing you want about 50- 70 lb yellow braid.

  • Lmao that was awsome!

  • GRAB THE NET!!! GRAB THE NET!!!....

    nevermind, i got it! haha

    that was great!

  • its a good thing that guy did'nt have a gun he would have sank the boat

  • This totally reminds me of Vancouver Island North, Port McNeill B.C. Canada.

Great camera man to not loose interest in what just took place.

  • Don't get between a Dolphin and his fish!

  • I fish the Little Su pretty often for kings. I only use 100 lb. ProLine. If you don't stop that first run before the fish get into the bushes you'll lose that fish. and btw, I have NEVER caught kings anywhere that hit as hard as those in the little su!

  • Been watching NTA since it started, and that is probably my favorite clip. Nice job. JIM
