  • this is like watching dumb and dumber debate politics

"have the technology to limit oil spills"

    right

we've seen how well that's panned out

  • @greatpumpkinxyz there is a bit more to what has gone on in the gulf then you are implying. If oil companies were permitted to drill in more accessible areas on and off shore they would not need to drill a mile under the water. Unless you're ready to go nuclear power, we need to harvest oil from the earth.

  • @CrimsonEmpire The purpose of pointing that out is because why should some one who never worked in a certain industry be trying to tell us who we need to listen to about that industry. I have no business experience so I do not criticize these businesses for failing. And yes I do disagree. I will rather listen to someone who has experience working in the oilfield industry because they actually know something about it. The notion is because they are the ones that are out there doing the work.

  • @jedsmn I've never worked in the oil industry. I'm not sure what the purpose of pointing that out is. But to imply that we should shape our national energy advice from an op ed news show host and a country star who worked on a rig is not smart. Do you disagree? Policies that affect the nation shouldn't be decided by the people that will profit from them. That's common sense. And where does the notion that midwestern cowboys and roughnecks are the street wise heart of the United States?

  • @CrimsonEmpire Yeah why dont we get energy information from the people that have actually worked in the energy business. Hmmm. Have you ever worked in the oilfield for the amount of time Trace has? I highly doubt it. You are probably just like Mr. White collar in that uptown highrise that only knew about a rig before the deepwater horizon by watching Armeggedon, which by the way was a total crock.

  • @greatpumpkinxyz They said "To Limit" Vehicles have features to help prevent and limit fatalities and car wrecks but they still happen just like the oil spills. It is due to HUMAN ERROR. Comments like that show exactly how much you know about the oilfield itself. Why don't you stick to the Lord of The Rings or World of Warcraft discussions and leave the oilfield to the people that actually know about it.

  • I like Trace Adkins, he at least has given some thought to what he believes. I might not always (well, hardly ever actually) agree with him, but he's done his homework and I respect that. Glenn Beck just hollers like a madman. I'd watch a show with Trace as the host, but Glenn Beck needs to chill and see the world outside of his little box.

  • Ahh yes, Trace Adkins and Glenn Beck, what better people to get your environmental and energy information from.... waaaait a second....

  • I think they should seng Glenn Beck and Fix news headquarters to AZ, where they will amongst friends, i.e. people with low IQ.

  • By "lowest common denominator" do you mean law-abiding, hard-working, family oriented people who believe governments should represent the people, not rule them? Are you referring to people who believe we should abide by the wisdom and guidelines put forth in the Constitution? You may be surprised to discover that more of America relates to Trace and Beck then to you.
