Personally I think joint custody should be the primary and established mandate, then if a parent sucks, the other parents can go to court to prove that.
My own parents were not perfect but my father was better at being a parent than my mom was. She moves use three states away, without his permission (or our's) and left him paying child support (which he paid in full and on time)
The system is not fair.

well if you grant complete egual custody to all parents what about the dads that are harmful and will more then likely kill, abuse, or neglect their children? Thats not really thnking about the kids in that matter. Just because the Dad is bad doesnt mean the mom is too.. its just the Dad that needs to be kept away if hes abusive or neglectful.

I will agree. However, if I look around at the people surrounding my life, loving, caring, compassionate and willing dads are being withheld from the family while to mother has been given custody and is neglecting parental duties. Just because the mom is bad doesn't mean the dad is too.. no one really thinks about the kids in these plentiful situations. SOLE CUSTODY IS CHILD ABUSE. PERIOD.

I can go on and on about what you said. But your answer is one sided and you say what about the bad Dad's..You did not mention and the bad Mom's. You may be a Mother and be fine. But don't assume that all Mom's are good or the better parent.Maybe you know some wacked out Dad. I know wacko mothers too. We're ALL equal there Beanfishy.

theres a reason they dont do that.. because some dads will actually abuse and neglect the children because of drug and alcohol issue's. As said think of the children. Growin up being neglected and abused because of alcohol issue's is not a good enviroment. Better investigation of both sides should be made...

It is not a good thing that destroys people, families and children. Women are not winning with these laws. Children are not winning and Fathers are being damaged so that they are no good to themselves or sociity REFORM CHILD SUPPORT. They did in the UK, they need to do it here.
