Just found a stat that might interest some ppl . . .Alfred Asaro was one of the judges in Benn's next fight after this, five months later. Can't believe they even let him near a fight again. And it was Benn's.

It's surprising that they both didn't end up in the same condition after this fight. One of the most savage fights I've ever seen.

@ihatelifejosemartine Well said. A great fighter is a great fighter regardless of where they're from.

@MrTimnaik Both of these fighters were beasts. Jones probably wouldn't want any of these two

Benn is amazingly tough but more lacking in skill than I once thought if this video is anything to go by. Someone like Roy Jones in his prime would toy with him. You might be reading this and thinking that's obvious but not everyone agrees.

mccleland was a great fighter but benn could knock out a donkey.mcclelands chin was a bit too good- for his own good! benn hit him with great power shots countless times and mccleland kept upright when 99.9% of other fighters wouldnt have been down more than they were up! best fight iv ever seen between 2 great fighters. shame about the outcome!!

4:58 Frank Bruno lol!
I'm an American and I don't hate Nigel Benn. I admire him for being a tough, power-hitting champion with a lot of heart. It doesn't matter if he's British or not, he's a great fighter. I'm an American who couldn't care less where a fighter comes from, if they're great, they're great!
