A beautiful song from Chris Smither's absolutely wonderful 2006 album, "Leave The Light On".
I recommend that EVERYONE go out & buy this album (or download from your favorite online retailer); it really is great from start to finish, full of fine musicianship, clever humor and wonderful, poetic lyrics.
Because of distorted audio, I had planned to re-post my 1st version of "Father's Day" (which was just one shot of me at the piano, using the old film effect). On the way to doing that, I decided to add some family photos. The slide-show centers around my Dad, F. Adolph Harsch, with his parents Friedrich and Maria (Leno) Harsch, plus his siblings & other kin, my mother, my brother & sister and their spouses... ... and a dog or two.
Dad was the "last one out" - the youngest of seven children to survive infancy. He found his way nearly to birthday #88, passing away quietly in the early morning of Sunday, October 24, 2010.
There's also a quick trip through my school photos. Apparently, once I got glasses I lost all control of my hair.

Robert Harsch - Vocal & Yamaha C3 Grand Piano; recorded in Blessed Trinity Catholic Community's worship space, using a Canon FS200 camcorder with built-in stereo microphone; XP Quality, Auto-Windscreen OFF.
Lexmark Photo Editor, Nero Vision 5, and Windows Movie Maker were all used to create the final video. Other than converting file formats, there was NO processing to the audio - no reverb, effects or EQ - just natural acoustic reflections (and murmuring font) from the church as caught by Canon FS200.
Thanks so much, Ray!
I bet you would really like the entire "Leave The Light On" album - Chris Smithers is a fine poet, and his songs flow beautifully.

I felt I needed to warn folks: I kinda had a "Bad Hair Decade" starting about 1974.
