Crash Team Racing - Crash Cove (Oxide's Ghost)

This is the first track in the game. Naturally, it's short and simplistic. But in Oxide's case, the simple levels are harder. When there's less obstacles in Oxide's path, he goes faster. So that makes this one of the hardest tracks to beat him on. Originally I thought I could only beat him with Tiny, but I recently tried with Pinstriple (my favorite racer + character) and ended up beating him big time. You have to powerslide always and keep in that boosted status. If that runs out you'll probably lose. You can't make ANY mistakes either. Hit a wall and its over, make turns too wide and you'll lose. Make sure you try to cut corners, don't float around the edges. Despite how easy I make it look it is one of the harder ones. Don't forget I made no mistakes too.

Q: What happens when you beat Oxide's time on a track?
A: You get a white star next to the track name on the selection screen

Q: What happens when you beat all of Oxide's times?
A: You unlock Scrapbook option at main menu that lets you watch the Scrapbook. It's no different than watching it after getting the 101% ending. But you get to feel proud for accomplishing the most difficult challenge in the game, something a lot of players can't do in this game.

Q: How do you unlock Oxide's ghost for a track?
A: Do a Time Trial race on any track and do well. If your time is low enough, N. Tropy will challenge you. If you beat his time, you'll go up against Oxide's ghost.

Q: How do you keep doing those boosts?
A: It's called Power Sliding. If you have the game, go into the Help section of Adventure Mode to learn how to do it correctly.

Q: Is it possible to unlock Oxide?
A: No. Maybe using a cheat device or if you're playing a ROM, but not a legit method. There's no push button code for him, such as one for Penta Penguin as a racer.

0:14. Oh my god. Back in '99 and '00 I used to play this game a lot but could never get the purple coin on top of the bridge in Crash Cove. My friends told me there was a jump next to the water. I never figured it out, maybe I wasn't going fast enough. Now that I see it I'm like are you serious?! Looks like its time to dig out the game disc.

Question: How do u charge ur beginging turbo so to the fill meter? When I start I race I do start off with a small turbo, but for some reason when I watch u do it the meter goes full out red and u get a bigger boost. How do u do that?

this is one of the easiest tracks to beat oxide on....if i can remember......i definitely know that tiny arena is by far the easiest i had like a half lap between me and oxide by the time i passed the finish line, cortex castle i found very hard and dingo canyon

I'm not trying to sound like a cocky guy who thinks he's better than everyone, but, I find oxide VERY easy to beat on ANY track. I especially use Pura or Penta (I own the NTSC version, so Penta doesn't have maxed out stats.)

when i go on ''time trials'' all it says is ''insert memory card'' and ''there is no ghost data for this track'' if i wanna beat oxides ghosts how on earth do i get to them??? HELP!

Ah, man. I just beat Oxide's ghost. I'm only to do that with Dingodile for some reason.

I beat his ghost by, about, a millisecond. It was the closest race i have ever had!
