  • The #1 greatest male blues singer. I was fortunate to be able to see him, in person, twice. The first time was with Ben Webster, and the second time he was appearing with Jimmy Reed, another blues legend.

  • 'Splain it, Mr. Witherspoon, 'splain it.

  • He encompassed so much of Big Joe Turner and Joe Williams!
