here is my problem, I am agnostic, but most of my family is catholic. I always want to come out and say how ludicrous catholicism is, but I have one of the most loving and caring family's out there and I don't want to ruin that with a religious debate. So do I just shut up and go to church with them on easter, or do i come out and let them know what I think?

@ekbowler I remain Agnostic for title only. Trust me when I say this I could not ask for a better family than what I have. I hold my Dad as if Saint, if there is such a thing this man wrote the book. I was born to question EVERYTHING, I remain incapable of blind faith, my own mind will not allow me to just say OK. I went to church until I was 18 simply because I had no choice. Religion must not necessarily die for man to live. They must just separate. For instance 1000 years from now if the technology exists to actually have a society in space, earth can be blockaded and preserved as a sort of park of the dark ages while the enlightened can leave them thousands of years in the past. Think of it like how we observe the Sentinelese without interacting with them and destroying their paleolithic culture instead of trying to bring them 10,000 years into the present.

@ekbowler I like that you say agnostic. A technically accurate Atheist (subjectively denial) is in the same logical boat as theists (subjectively affirmation). For a free thinking agnostic (objective logic) to pretend to believe in a deity is being dishonest with oneself and others. There's no harm in still going to church with your family, while your family is going to church with their imaginary friend to buy special favoritism from him.
