@makhlukdewa you should not have to replace the inverter coolant. it does not take anti freeze it takes a special coolant. its best not to touch it unless you have a leak. then get the leak fixed then top it off. its very expensive stuff and you cannot put just anything in it. again this is not a normal car. if you value your vehicle have a certified mechanic look at it. that coolant should last 200k miles before needing serviced.

Throw a bomb in it, RUN then buy a volt or a tesla. Both of then are REAL electric CARS and not that toy car Toyota calls a "car".

I suspect the inverter coolent pump bearing - get a length of hose, hold one end to your ear and try and locate the noise with the other end, then buy a manual on the Prius/get hold of a diagram of the Prius engine/transaxle and identify whats making the noise - let me know how you get on? There may be an 'after marked treatment' you can put in the inverter coolant (not the engine coolant) to cure the noise - otherwise check there isn't a recall on the pump - Toyota fix their mistakes.
I think statutra might be right about the Coolant pump. I notice over the year, this only happen in the winter time where the weather gets pretty cold. It will make that noise and stop after a few seconds. If I were to turn off the engine and turn it back on after a couple of minutes, the car is pretty quite,no noisy hot coolant try to heat up the engine. And yes, my Toyota dealer is an idiot. I don't think they know what the word "hybrid "is.

your coolant pump for the thermos is either bad, or someone changed your antifreeze and there is still air in the system.

Thank you for the comment. if it was the antifreeze, what's the best way to fix it? I took it to Toyota and they said it was there fuel pump and it operated in the normal fashion, but I don't believe them.

Engine noise only happen when it's been off for a long time. After it stop making that sound, you can turn off and back on the engine without having to hear the sound.

are you familiar with changing antifreeze on a vehicle? If so, we usually purge the air out of the system by opening the radiator cap ( make sure the enigne is cold ) and running the heater in your vehicle, you should see the bubbles coming up

Thanks for the info. I haven't got the time to try it out but I will try to purge it.
