Reversing Nikkyo.
This is a short video of a reversal technique for Nikkyo.
In ACE Aikido we adhere to the principle of "Kinesthetic Invisibility" termed by my late instructor Don O'Bell, which means that if you are connected and are moving with your partner properly, from Center and with Ki not muscle (thus the first level of the "Harmony" aspect of AIkido), they won't feel anything being "done" to them.
When a technique evolves this way, it is almost impossible to reverse, because there is nothing Uke feels that they can find to reverse. When physical reference is obvious in a technique, i.e., when someone tries to clearly "do something" to their partner and they feel it, the reference can often be used to reverse the technique.
Here is a subtle reversal of Nikkyo using that notion. As soon as I feel the attempt to put the technique on me, I stay with the connection and move in a way that allows Kuzushi to happen to Nage rather than me receiving the technique.
Again, as in all our Aikido, connection and Kuzushi play important/interesting roles.
Since I am teaching this, it is done Slowly.
