Freight railways pay for their own maintenance and capital improvement projects unlike highways which carry the semi-trucks and cars you are oh so fond of. Passenger service railways ARE subsidized in order to be efficient. As for the comment about me not having a job, well, I work for the railroad. You, however, sound like an uneducated trucker. Please refrain from breeding.

That is an older TR-10 at work, You use them to to take out and replace the ties when working on a tie gang or doing ties where there are switches. It`s a really hard machine to run, but once you get the hang of it, its no sweat. I, myself will never operate one as it comes with lots of responsibilty and maintenance. I like to stick with the simple machines when Im at work.

well for one railroads havent been sub'd since the depression in the 30's and right now if your working for the railroad it dont hurt the enviroment as much as the 300 trucks one train makes up so on that note start thinking about the future and your kids...
