  • @PeterDad60 u can get best bansuri from anand dhotre in bombay. his dad was taught flute making by pt pannalal ghosh.for 10$ ul get a nice one.buy thinner g or b sharp.

  • u r musics heavenly punditji.god bless u .

  • I have never seen a sarangi player go that high on the instrument..pandiji simply leaves me speechless regardin his mastery over the most difficult instrument in ICM

  • @PeterDad60 I hope you are starting with a short Bansuri. That is the proper way to go because if you start with a long one the fingers will have to stretch too much causing nerve pain that is hard to cure. It took me 2 years before I could play a Bansuri with middle C as the lowest note. Then it took 5 years to move to a low B (in the indian notation BB) and now after 20 years I can play an AA bansuri which has D as the tonic. A slow transition has taken a lot of patience. Good luck.

  • @dkmkartha Thank you for leading me to the Bansuri. I will look into purchasing one of these instruments. I do not have a lot of money but I will save for it.

I have found music to be the heart of life. To play everyday is to bring joyfullness and understanding of other cultures into my life.

  • Dear PetersDad: You should try the Bansuri. I did it 20 years ago after playing the violin for 3 decades. The bansuri is more HEART related perhaps because of the breath connection. And it is so intoxicating even at the amateur levels that I am able to play. Your instruments all sound wonderful!!! The word Vaadya comes from the root Vad, which means to speak. So, when we play a vaadya, we are manifesting Vaak-the Goddess of speech. In India, music is Naadaatmika Vaak. Naada being sound.

  • @dkmkartha Hello, I am enjoying several stringed instruments along with my Vaadra Saadhna. Among them is also the Sarod, like you I enjoy this instrument. I have played Itialian violin for many hears and now I am playing the Chinese erhu as well. I also play the Pakustan Oud and Afgan Rabab. Music is much of my life. I like you am 60 years old. Peace for our earth!

  • It is wonderful that you are learning a news instrument. I am learning the Sarod and I am sixty years old. I believe in Socrates's dictum that one new instrument (and a new language) every 10 years will add 10 years to your longevity. Yes, this clip is so inspiring and the artist incomparable! Good luck with your Vaadya Saadhna!

  • Hello I just accidently made a comment using my son's u-tube account name badmmon610. I have just created my own account and my name is PeterDad60. I am the Sarangi player not my son. _Peter from America.
