this proves that God is Spirit. He gave Oscar a great gift, and Oscar could hardly move....until his fingers started moving on the piano. Flesh is one thing. Spirit is another.

I couldnt do it. I would have had a mental break down on that stage, or just left the stage, or not touch the piano ever again. thats just me. but what a pervilge, i've never meet him in my short 20 yrs of living, and regret not know about him earlier, i've know bout oscar for 3 yrs now, and now own almost most of his albums. do you know how many people have play duet piano w/ OP? as far as i know you and Herbie Hancock. consider yourself blessed!

I like how Oscar was suppressing that lightning-fingered Bop stuff till Christian started dishing it out. Oscar could still play anything better than perhaps anyone else still alive. he went the way of Art Tatum, proving the power of music.

vladimir horowitz was still recording the day before his death. i think pianists are a different kind of human being. oscar had a stroke sometime in the 90's and he still had virtuosity.

A revelation of sorts. I'm not sure which surprised me more: the existence of this clip, or that Oscar could still play so much piano just over a year before his death. Probably the former...

Hey Christian, You don't know me, but was a Jr the year you graduated, and I was a trombone player in the Jazz band and we played with you once, you are amazing at what you do, and I am certain you will become a household title in the years to come, wish you all the best!
