Film shows approach and departure from Gold Hill station to Virginia City and explores the old rail stations, streets and characters of Virginia City, one of the countrys largest historical landmarks, it is listed on the National Registrar of Historic Places.

This is one fine slideshow here. Incidentally, original ten-wheeler #27, now on static display at the NV State Railroad Museum, and 2-8-0 #29 were built within months of each other at Baldwin's Philadelphia factory.

I was on the chase of this train on August 15, 2009; the first ever passenger revenue V&T steam train since 1938 between Carson City & Virginia City. You were standing almost right next to me when you took some of your pics. You can check out my video of this event as well. My video camera was in for repairs at the time so I had to shoot only digital pictures of this event and make a slide show out of it.

Hey, where's the orange cones on the locomotive? Oh, that was March 15 this year. It's nice how you mixed the video and photos together. I have many V&T videos, some show #29 returning to service back in 2008.

boy the # 29 is the engine I practically grew up on and was also the first locomotive i ever rode in back when i was 18 months old and just watching this video brings back the memories. 5*
