BE CAREFUL: PRACTICE A LOT IN ADVANCE!
Barefoot cycling for long distances is easy with my invention. It gives a nice, natural feeling and you don't end up having white feet under your nicely tanned brown legs ;-).
Also you might find out that your feet are more balanced when peddling, compared to when using shoes, especially if clicked to the pedals. Your knees and other joints might benefit from this.
YOU DEFINITELY SACRIFICE SOME STABILITY BY USING THESE ADAPTERS. So make several critical test rides. In certain situations the hit the ground and break off. Practice!
It's a misunderstanding that you won't get stinky feet. Like your feet, the adapters will get dirty and smelly, so wash them regularly. Living outdoors and having a lot of body activity does diminish your smell though.
All you need is some old cycle shoes (your size) which have an inner sole like you can see in this video. Make sure they have the click adapters mounted. For cutting off the upper part of the shoe, using a small, sharp saw (like in a Swiss knife or so) is recommendable. Removing the rubber sole is not easy. Try to tear off as much as possible in the first place, then start using a sharp and strong knife AND DO WEAR THICK LEATHER GLOVES TO PROTECT YOURSELF. Some spray paint will give the sole a nice finish.
If you are using an orthopedic sole, like me, you can even include that sole into the adapter, using double sided tape.
Enjoy and greetings from Dick van Door!
