  • excellent

  • We feel very blessed to have met him. We have a custom Baldwin SD-6 on which he played and signed the harp. Truly he is one of the greatest pianists of all time. We've always been thrilled he chose one of the finest pianos ever built on which to demonstrate his flawless technique and power.

  • @747captain I wish I had met my hero. I don't play, but I love music, and Earl's sense of feel. He is a master of understatement. His Rachmaninoff recordings (all 4 concertos with Rhapsody on a theme by Paganini) are my favorite (Wild/Horenstein '65). The 2nd is here on Youtube - go listen!

  • Still excellent sound quality!

  • World class. I had the chance to meet Mr. Wild in July 2005, and it was surely a highlight of my life so far.

  • OMG! thank you so very much for posting this. My father played in the Boston Pops.. he was a violinist and there are some great shots of him playing. The childhood memories and tears while watching this!

  • I completely love this Piano Concerto. It has a mix of so many qualities, just unbelievable. If you would like to listen to another great composer YouTube the Great Great Grandfather in Composition of Peter I. Tchaikovsky:

    Iosif Andriasov

    You will not be disappointed

  • My wonderful Polish teacher, Dr. Turkiewicz would have approved of Mr. Wilde letting the music and his interpretation of it express the emotion of the piece rather than the performing aritst attempt to convey elements of it through facial expressions or any kind of gestures.

  • RIP Mr. Wild...and I can't help but comment on that awesome concert grand he played in this concert. Baldwin was still making awesome pianos. That thunderous bass register was the envy of other piano makers for years.

  • It's Symphony Hall in Boston dressed up a bit. You can see the unmistakable organ on the back wall in the long shot.
