  • Books Or videogames?

  • @CENASUCK32 DVD's. Games are to the left :-)

  • Great cover! Can you give me settings for MT2?

  • @Mourun1 Level at 12 o' clock, High at 11 o' clock, Low at 5 o' clock (max), Middle at 10:30, Mid Freq at 1:30, Distortion at 12 o' clock. The only thing that REALLY matters is Mid Freq (and Middle to a lesser degree). Turning the Mid Freq dial changes the sound completely.

However, this can all sound completely different on another amp.

  • @CrushedJustice Not at the moment. In about a year time I'll probably have a place to jam.

  • @Nihilous Do you have friends to jam with in a garage or someting? I mean You have a jcm800 it must be hard not being able to crank the amp and put it to its potential

  • @CrushedJustice I live in a rather small appartment, so my neighbours would hate my guts :-)

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Hammett was using a Mesa he borrowed from Hetfield on Ride, but rereading an interview on the Guitarworld website proved me otherwise. Search for "Prime Cuts Metallica", very good interview.

  • @Nihilous James had the hot rodded marshall and they shared it on recording for certain songs, they didn't get their mesa boogies till master. I'll watch ur seek and destroy, can I ask why you have volume limitations tho?

  • @CrushedJustice I've got an SD-1, but at low volume I still don't get enough gain. The MT-2 sounds much better.

Actually, they used hot-rodded Marshalls for Kill and Ride with a Proco RAT. If I'm not mistaken, Kirk was already using a Mesa Boogie for Ride.

My sound is far from perfect, but I think I'm getting pretty close considering my volume limitation. Check out my Seek & Destroy cover, that one sounds just a bit better.

  • you should try the boss sd-1 pedal thats what they used running through their marshall for kill em all and lightning.
