is there a way to turn off the background noise? it makes it harder to hear the conversations in the vids.

Game play is fast because modern processors are too fast for the game.You can get a slow down program which will slow the navigation through the house.either that or pick up an old PC from ebay with Dos and win 98 on.I am playing it at the moment ( 22 June 2011)and once you get used to the speed everything else is fine.
