Read the book, why don't you? The possibility that William White may have arranged the shooting as retribution for the accidental killing of his cousin during a botched robbery by the idiot Gusenberg brothers (of the Bugs Moran gang) makes a lot more sense than the facile theory of "Capone is a bad guy, so everything that went wrong in Chicago back then must have been his fault."
And: Mr. Eig merely said Capone was "not as bad a guy as people made him out to be", i.e. not a psychopath.
