i love it man his voice could not be more unique. i have noit heard these guys in like 6 years or so when i was 16. brings back so many memories

If someone's voice is good enough to carry this much emotion, it becomes irrelevant how "good" it is in a technical sense.

I just started listening to these guys, and i disagree with both of you, haha. i like his voice it's unique. not saying it sounds amazing but to me it doesn't sound like too many other people.

the beauty of art is the self expression, where vocal quality has little effect on the deeper meaning of a song, but only improves the songs aesthetic. Appreciate the less than perfect voice of John Darnielle, and connect that to the less than perfect reality of life. Essentially, dont waste time finding faults in others, but instead embrace them.

I like his voice a lot too, and I'm also a fan of Tallahassee. =D

This is my new favorite music video. I love his dazed expression, the hostage situation, the bleeding from above the hairline, everything.

I like his voice, but I've always been a fan of harsh voices. Bob Dylan was my first real musical passion.

His lyrics are the best, but his voice could be better. Especially on all his low-fi stuff.
