Flash Gordon: The Greatest Adventure of All (7/9)

One of the greatest classics ever made. This animated movie was produced by Filmation before the 1979 Flash Gordon cartoon series, but did not actually air until 1982. It is considered the best film version of Flash Gordon, though it would never be broadcasted again following its premiere because the story is associated with Hitler's Third Reich. It was written by Star Trek writer Samuel A. Peeples, directed by Gwen Wetzler and more or less faithfully follows the early Alex Raymond comic strip adventures.

The story is unreal and for it to be in a childrens cartoon is amazing. Definitely couldn't get done today without it being dumbed down and cutesy up for kids. I mean they had a connection with Ming and Hitler, just couldn't be done with PC America or even Earth today.

when cartoons had plots and competent writing. gettin up on sat mornings to watch the real scooby doo and watching the honeycomb and sugar smack commercials and all the rest, sid and marty kroft etc... and ending the afternoon with the cool ghoul when i was a kid in cincy or dr paul bearer when we moved to fl. kids today are fucking braindead and doomed
