In the twentieth century, Alexander Chizhevsky in Russia and Raymond Wheeler in America made studies of the history of war, analyzing all known battles over a 2500 year period. The index of wars was further examined by Edward Dewey of the Foundation for the Study of cycles, and it was found that 11 and 22 year cycles related to the Sunspot cycle were present throughout history.

This leads us to need to have a very different way of thinking about the causes of historical events. Some unseen cosmic forces are playing a major part in the tides of human affairs.

See http://www.cyclesresearchinstitute.org/chizhevsky.html where the paper on War cycles is available.

There is an interdisciplinary cycles discussion forum open to all people to search and read, and people can join to participate, at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/cyclesi/

  • I am reading greg bradens book Fractal Time about cycles of time - the cycle of wars as you explain it is very interesting - can that also be related to the current war the US has waged with Iraq/Afghanistan ? and if so what about the threat of war between Isreral and Iraq that has been threatening to blow up since 2003 ?

I agree, this will if we are conscious help expand our understanding of the world in a way that might just expand our awareness of natural cycles of time an harmonics

  • @unity1nz Both the first and second gulf wars started at sunspot maximum which occurs about every 11 years. We are at present just past sunspot minimum, so the next peak is in about 2014. We can expect more wars around that time, but there is no indication of where.

  • Arty, is there a cycle for stock market highs and lows also? Do individual stocks have cycles? I believe that the Foundation for the Study of Cycles are claiming they have now developed the ability to identify the start of a financial cycle. Do you believe that is possible. Thanks, I find you and your blogs very interesting and informative.

  • Yes, there are a number of stock market cycles. These include 3.39 years (called 40.68 months) and many others. When I ran Dewey's cycles from 1961 forwards in time they predicted the October 1987 crash, so it is possible. I am aware of the FSC claims. There is every possibility that they are valid.

  • Regarding individual stocks, they mostly have the same cycles as the markets, although there are sector / industry cycles and might be conceivably be individual stock cycles although more likely just different weightings of sector and market cycles.

  • Haha! Just realized that I have been telling people that there is no evidence for a supposed Mayan 2012 disaster, and here I corrected the date of next war to 2012. :-)

  • What is the name of the book @ 1:37 ?

  • Keep up the good work!

  • Dear Ray, Have seen all your videos from global pagoda (I live very near and I wish to meet you if you visit again) to cycles of war. You are a genius. I have a question. If you have seen latest update from Larry of Cycle foundation he says probably major war period could be between 2014 to 2017 which corresponds with your old 2015 estimate. However, you changed year recently to 2012. Can you please reply which is more probability? Thanks a ton for all your work.

  • Thank you for your very quick reply to my questions. You are both gracious and thoughtful and it is very much appreciated.

It's people like you that make the internet one of man's best creations. Amazing it is that we're over 10,000 miles apart [that 'miles' thing gives me away as an American] and it brings me into a dialoge with such genius as resides in you.
