So evident in Blur and the Brit-pop crew's music as-well as the 1980's U.S punk bands.
I cant think of many albums more influential than this one. 1977, 35 years on... It seems to get passed down every generation and work well.

@TremBulerProductions The riff is really close and it has that heavy fuzz tone , I agree

LOVE WIRE!!!!!! As great as Joy Division and Killing Joke.... but without getting the same amount of credit.. Wire was a huge, huge influence on the US hardcore underground of the early 1980s... The song "Strange" is a little like sister ray... and a lot of Bowie's "Dance of the Everlasting Skelatal Circle" at the end of "Sweet Thing" from Bowie's Diamond Dogs lp,.

@KeithTalent2 Yeah, the REM cover is great, as is the original. The world is a huge place.

Why can't we just agree that both versions are good?

Love R.E.M but this crushes 10 times more.

Wow, REM raped this song? Congrats MR. Stipe, but Wire still owns you.
