I moved to this area 5 years ago and think that Oswestry is a wonderful, old fashioned, town. Most of the shops are locally owned which makes for excellent service. There are good butchers, bakers, greengrocers, clothing and shoe shops - all of the highest quality.

Its amazing how many people run the town down, its not a bad place really, though its what you make of it in the first place. I live here and I love it. Its got a good mix of independant shops and a few larger chain stores. My American girlfriend also loves it in this town :). May I ask where abouts your from?

I live there and i love it! It's got a really good mix of well known stores and independent shops. Cae Glas Park is beautiful and in the summer there is a brass band performing on Sundays.
