Recording of the 2003 TMEA Symphony Orchestra playing their final piece Daphnis et Chloe No.2 with McGlaughing's speech after receiving the "thank you" awards from TMEA as an intro. Excuse all the foul noises made by the audience... except for the "BRAVO" at the end.

Performed at the Lila Cockrell Theatre in San Antonio, TX.

Conductor: Bill McGlaughlin

Bela's Bounce - McGlaughlin
Sinfonia India - Chavez
Daphnis et Chloe, Suite no. 2 - Ravel

  • The link you have posted on the vid for the "video recording" is NOT Daphnis et Chloe -- it's "Bela's Bounce"!

  • Was this on exploring music?

  • David Gamble or Blake Maso??

  • I played first horn in this group...it sounds way more fun than the piece actually was.

  • WOW...I was nervous about hearing this performance by TMEA after hearing the 2000 performance of Symphony Fantastic-Berlioz. But....WOW, these kids handled this very well. Woodwinds handled this part writing like pros. Good job!!!!!
