  • @pasley21 Are you serious, they're going to put a 105 in the air?!!!

Wow, get ready for some noise if that happens!!

  • @pvtsoap262

There are currently no '105's flying but that is due to change, the collings foundation who right now has some rare planes, a B-24, B-17, P-51C, F-4D Phantom II, A-4 Skyhawk just to name a few and all 100% flying is working on getting an F-105G flying and on the airshow circuit soon so keep an eye out or google "collings F105"

  • @336kgf lol the blue screen pilot DAMMIT.

  • @pvtsoap262 HAHAHAHAH-if only, but he would have to make it more reliable than Windows.

  • @336kgf I know one person who could restore an F-105 and he live's in the state above mine Bill Gates.

  • @pvtsoap262 I'm sure somebody would think it would be, but who knows. The way the economy is these days, the fact that they can't afford to restore it doesn't surprise me.

  • @336kgf in the end do you thing it would be worth it?

  • @pvtsoap262 YEAH...I think the attrition rate for Thuds in Vietnam was over half. I would think the only way to put one together is to modify the hell out of it. Put a newer engine in that bad boy with modern avionics. Otherwise, you are looking at a financial and physical nightmare to keep it maintained.

  • @336kgf that would make sense there pretty good for a museum piece or getting shot down I guess.

  • @pvtsoap262 You asked about F-105s. I heard that they have tried restoring one in Cali but it got too expensive. Not surprised, considering the USAF/ANG hasn't used one since the mid 80s. It's probably damn near impossible to find parts if they want it to be completely original.
