A brilliant scene between Carter (Amanda Tapping) and O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson). Amanda originally wanted to sing the MacGyver theme tune, but couldn't remember the melody on the day of shooting, so went with the SG-1 theme tune instead.
From season 7 episode 15 of Stargate SG-1, entitled 'Chimera'.

This is *exaclty* the reason why I'm so pissed that new shows almost invariably lack a theme tune. If SG1 had been like the newer Stargate Universe, this in-joke would've NEVER been possible!
I keep complaining but people keep telling me stuff like "chill out man, it's not like the theme tune is a major part of the show!". Well, I maintain that it IS. It's a BIG part of a show. GIVE US THEME TUNES BACK!!

I totally agree with you. Theme tunes and title sequences are an important part of any show. What's even worse than a lack of one, however, is when they cut the middle 90% out of the titles and butcher the theme to fit it in that 5 second clip!
