A cabinet minister in Egypt, aware of the common ground shared by Muslims and Latter-day Saints, once remarked to President Howard W. Hunter of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles that "if a bridge is ever built between Christianity and Islam it must be built by the Mormon Church."
The Book of Mormon teaches that Heavenly Father is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth (Alma chapter 26 vs. 37; see also 1 Nephi chapter 1 vs. 14).
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints expresses special love and concern for the eternal welfare of all men and women, regardless of religious belief, race, or nationality, knowing that we are truly brothers and sisters because we are sons and daughters of the same Eternal Father.
We believe that the great religious leaders of the world such as Mohammed, Confucius, and the Reformers, as well as philosophers including Socrates, Plato, and others, received a portion of Gods light. Moral truths were given to them by God to enlighten whole nations and to bring a higher level of understanding to individuals.
It is not a coincidence that the worlds great religions come together at Temple Hill in modern-day Jerusalem. Known now as the Place of the Rock, it is a religious shrine for Islam, for Christianity, and for Judaism. All three great religions hold ties to this place. All three, likewise, have a common thread in a tradition that Elijah the prophet would return.
Knit together by world history and by Old Testament history and doctrine, the Church and the Islamic world can see each other as People of the Book, indeed Family of the Book.

Joseph was mistaken, Jesus....said the way was narrow, these are not notions of men....
matt 7:13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Joseph Smith was a big admirer of Muhammed. And no wonder. Wives and more wives.

@TrickTrolan The evidence of one losing a debate is belittling & name calling his opponents. Your charactersation of myself & Streetrace as six year olds only proves to me that we are hitting the mark. There is too much at stake eternally for the souls of people to be playing petty games of who is right. I believe LDS people to be decent good people who are simply misled by a man who himself is mistaken & decieved. I will pray that God will open the eyes of all peoples to Himself, not just LDS.

@LDS4Life71 No, You LDS folks do not make Jesus Christ to be Lord by making Lucifer his brother. NO way! Also, if u really did believe the first century apostles, u would not have to present "another testamony of Jesus Christ, Book of Mormon" which contradicts the 1st gospel of Jesus Christ, The Bible. Go back & believe the Bible & God will open you eyes to see what is Truth & falsehood. I believe the Bible because God is able to give me decernment regardless of others past misunderstandings.

@LDS4Life71 Jesus is the Son of God and the LDS Church says Lucifer is his brother. Hello, you make Lucifer a Son of God by logical default! Guy, your just doctrinally splitting hairs. Lucifer is an angel created by God in eternity past, who later turn on God and was tossed out of heaven. Furthermore, the Jewish texts are the foundation to the New Testament, which I agree with already, so whats your point? The Islamic faith copied/ripped off the previously written OT & NT accounts of Lucifer.
