The TARDIS is actually in two dimensions - the inside is seperate from the outside. There was an episode with the Ninth Doctor that discussed that they do get seperated and can be affected seperately.

An Olympic class passanger superliner has crashed into a Type 40 TT capsule, and you're concerned about it being four months late for Christmas?
Since no water leaked into the TARDIS, I assume the Titanic is no longer on the ocean - it might be in the vortex itself.

The portion of the Titanic that crashed through the TARDIS is way above the waterline to start with, so there would be no water leaking into the control room to start with.

Definitely a far better way to end the series than they did with the last one - it didn't find it as amusing as this one. I'm definitely looking forward to this Christmas Special, moreso than I was looking forward to The Christmas Invasion.
