Arthur! I love Arthur to death - generally, most Merlin fans do. Here are three things you should know about Arthur:

a) He's a prat. And a royal one.
b) He started to grow and show a compassionate/tender side in season one.
c) His character has taken a major rewind in season two. :( SADNESS. He has once again regressed to being a prat, but not in an endearing way - more like a WHAT ON EARTH HAS HAPPENED TO YOU, DO YOU HAVE MUTLIPLE PERSONALITY DISORDER kind of way. I'm not feeling his characterization at all; I thought the weirdness would fade after episode one, but no, it stuck. Plenty of other fans are like "but, what?" over the whole deal, and I'm totally with them. This video happened because I wanted to remind myself that Arthur is actually a good guy and has shown himself capable of change before. This song is one of my favourites about redemption - it's not a very original choice, I know, but it works for him.

Each verse/chorus is about his relationship with a different person: Morgana, Gwen and M-M-Merlin. I really like Arthur's dynamics with all of them and wanted to concentrate on each as their own entity, you know? Also, it doesn't matter if you ship any of the pairings or not - I ship everything on this show, really. Admittedly, I like some ships more than others (and if it shows, I'm sorry!) but I really sincerely DID want to give everyone equal time.

MORGANA
Arthur's original voice of reason. Their relationship is full of bickering and manipulation, but there is a solid affection there. Her verse&chorus is mostly about the underlying love Arthur has for her, and in turn, the faith Morgana has in him.

GWEN
Not going to lie; I find the (season two) pacing of A/G to be rushed. I'm not a big fan of how they've had to regress Arthur yet again for Gwen to have something to ~change~, but I think they're actually pretty sweet when their moments are much more subtle and genuine. Gwen's "you're not a child" rant was one of the big moments that made me want to vid this song. It's clear that Gwen believes that he will be a better King and therefore the key to a better Camelot, but acknowledges that he has a long way to go concerning people skills.

MERLIN
(My favourite I MEAN WHAT)! Their relationship got the climax; I just started giggling whenever I imagined vidding A/M to lyrics like ~the shine of it has caught my eye~ and that was honestly the first reason for why Merlin got the bridge, TO BE FRANK. But I actually think it's a bit appropriate; Merlin's his strongest supporter, the first to challenge Arthur, and I thought it'd have more impact if he was last. "Let me slip away, let me slip against the current" was originally going to be much more epic and less chaotic than it is, but it kind of took on a life of its own. It first started with the theme of them saving each other, and then it became, AWW LOOK AT THEIR PRETTY SMILES. I guess, I mean, if I pretend like I'm not shallow, we can say it's about showing both the grand scale of their destiny together AND, less dramatically, their lovely friendship. YEP. THAT'S WHAT IT IS. COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY.

I learned a lesson while editing this video: don't ever promise that you'll be finished vidding in any matter of time, because it only ends in TRAGEDY. I had so many near finishes and last minute frustrations and re-edits that RubberDuckInc is now probably going to murder me in my sleep. WHAT IS MY LIFE. I wish I could say I was proud of this video, and I sort of feel good about parts of it, but it didn't end up as epic as I'd hoped, and well. I just need to learn how to chill out and not be so overly cautious. That being said, I really hope you like it! And um, yay Arthur!

I was about to scream due to hyper ArMor videos and then Arthur/Gwen suddenly pops out and it kills any hyper I had. But amazing videos, btw. It fits the songs and the editing/manips/coloring is awesome <3 Rated, commented and faved.

@shazlin255 lol, I can't say I disagree with you. In retrospect, I'm surprised I even managed to vid Arthur/Gwen even for a PORTION of this video, because I am absolutely not a fan of the way the show handled it. Really poorly written and executed, IMO. I love the two A/M's like burning.

AHHHHH SO BEAUTIFUL. I love how I could feel that Morgana is his voice of reason from the beginning segment, and I'm always in awe of how well you match your clips with the lyrics. ALSO THE BUILDUP TO MERLIN WAS SUPERB, with the light orb and the labyrinth and all their freaking adorable ~looks. I really hope they give Arthur some redemption too, but this vid reminded me of how amazing he is when it's crunch time. Everything flowed so well together, you could so tell how hard you've worked on it

I LOVE THIS (even with the A/G) just guh so pretty and the words are so perfect for arthur and the relationships in his life. I am a A/Mor primarily but I also adore the A/M epic bromance of all time. Additional props to you for not being a A/G shipper and putting it in this video. I can't believe I've never seen this before. <3

I adore this! I totally agree with you about the rage re: character reset and I hope dearly that they don't do it again (because the end of s2 sort of fixed Arthur for me again). That said, this is one of the finest character studies of Arthur I've come across, and quite honestly I'm surprised that in a fandom this big, there aren't more of them. The boy annoys me to tears when he picks on Merlin but I love him to death and I love that the fans handle him so much better than canon often does.

I love this video! Everything about it! I am a ArthurxMerlin girl all the way, but I don't mind other ships. Arwen is great, and legendary and all lol, but NO ONE can deny the Merlin and Arthur *eye sex*.
