While standing in front of the George Washington Bridge in Manhattan, New York City, I think about the Premier of British Columbia who's government said, "dont promote gay tourism in China. They were cow-towing to the repressive Chinese government who would sell their grandmothers if there was a nickel to be made. Tyler Clementi jumped off that brigde a year earlier do to negative attention he was getting from a room mate at Rutgers University. "It gets better" but not when we worry about the Chinese government and the horrible things they do to their people and around the world.

  • I completely agree with you. I definitely feel like a lot of governments around the world tip-toe around China hoping not to offend them. I think the progress on gay rights that Canada has made compared to the rest of the world is something we should be PROUD of, not hide, just because we go to another country. Pretty much goes against the idea of "gay pride."
