I don't know why we're traying al the time to act like somehow ridiculous, so please all non-germans: I feel very sorry about this stupid german actor in this video, about the stupid music, the old car without seatbelts and so on.

No, the middle and left lane are for overtaking. As most cars drive faster than 80kph, you will be in the middle lane most of the time if you aren't driving a truck or something, but you will still have parts of the road where there aren't any trucks on the right - Then you HAVE to get into that lane. The left lane is pretty much a second lane specifically for overtaking the overtakers.

Most of the German Autobahns without a speed limit have 3 traces... the right for slow trucks, the trace in the center is for "normal" drivers and the left one is for "racers"

I don't get how people like this are paid by the government to do stuff like this. Probably the green party controls the budgets.
