A video from teachers.tv

Dr Brian Cox explains why scientists from all over the world are swarming to the Large Hadron Collider, the world's largest particle physics laboratory.

The LHC is the biggest science experiment ever built, and the scientists using it are aiming to recreate particles from the beginning of the universe.

Cox takes us on a scientific journey from the discovery of the electron and the birth of particle physics, via the discovery of quarks, to the building of the LHC at CERN.

  • @coldarc baabling.... heck not one line of your comment makes any scientific sense:

stop babbling, throwing jargon and trying to impress people.. its stupid.

  • there is no building blocks of matter. what you see is nothing but a shadow on a wall. electrons protons and neutrons are not real particles, they are different behavior of atoms that are made of standing waves configured in geometrical shapes moving in plasma current as a incredible thin fluid. MR higgs is digging in the wrong cave, bet on the wrong horse.
