Oh - I SOOOooo agree - although this is great, it is nothing compared to her live... it was truly amazing seeing her live. It was like a bolt of electricity that left one completely jaw-droppingly awe-struck!

She was Fantine - she did it on Bway when the show was still at the Broadway Theatre (not the Imperial, it hadn't moved there yet) - from January 1990 to July 1990. Then she did the show in Philly on the tour in like 1997 or so... she also did the tour in 91 I believe. She was slated to do the tour in late 88/early 89 but that's when she became ill with cancer for her first bout and had to bow out of the show during rehearsals.

She was the female lead "Fantine".

This recording is NOTHING compared to hearing her sing this song live. It was one of the most goosebump enducing moments in my long theater-going career. When she sang that final "Touch ne.." it was as if every seat in the theater was wired! About 2,000 people all jumped at once. Incredible!
