@ggallows yes some, but that one there had it's engine or one of it's tracks damaged. I found a description for that picture somewhere on the net (think it's tracked on the side you can't see. It was shot from behind that building I think.

the sturmtiger was still the artillery?
JustDutch123 6 months ago
@JustDutch123 Yes sturmtiger would be considered artillery. The gun actually used a rocket propelled projectile.

BTW the Abandoned JT was actually knocked out too, the engine was damaged.

@liberalinthedesertaz Yep that was the fate of most of the JT's and a lot of the german heavies. Reliabilty was the achilles heel of the german heavy tanks. Availabity of fuel near the end of the war was also a major problem. Some were abandoned when they ran out of fuel.

:50 is a Panther tank.

@lukebccb Nope. If you look close you will see it has no turret. It also mounts a 128mm (i think) gun vs the panther's 75 mm gun. It is a Jagdtiger(Hunting tiger) tank destroyer based on the King tiger chassis. Not very many were built and most were used as static defense guns in the last defense of Germany. Most ended up abandoned like this one.
