Funnily enough my American Father-In-Law sent me this video with a blush on his face. He says, there is a huge defect in the Americans' basic knowledge.
I understand in a way why is it so. But it is still true that Europeans know much more about America, its' history, the States and their capitals than they know or care about anything else out of the US.

  • I'm from Hungary, shut up stupid people....

  • Hey! I'm hungary!

  • I can understand her saying "I don't even know if France is a COUNTRY" with the European Union stuff (she might have thought that France is just a STATE of EU... But showing up at a quiz with THAT level of ignorance?! Fail@failing...

  • Que horribles esto programas donde se burlan de la gente...

  • @CharlieHalliwell I imagine if somebody from Mexico says: i´m North American!.Ignorant people would say: "Come on! You are a Latino!" I guess this all happens because some countries have also a distorted self perception. Nobody calls Japanese, or South Koreans as exotic Asians. So I guess there is some slum dog complex in some Latin countries. And as we can see in eastern Europe, they are also treated as second class citizens. I like the Expression in Portuguese and Spanish: estadunidense.

  • Wow!!! some people in the USA SERIOUSLY NEED some basic geography classes

  • @u2bMODERATOR true, i agree, i dont like it, but it's how english speakers (not just from the usa) see the world...

  • @u2bMODERATOR Anyway, a small thing to complain. I don´t want to be reduced as person to a nation, or a piece of land. My home is not here...

  • USA, is the correct. And call USA citizens Americans, seems stupid to me. It is like calling Germans of Europeans when referring to the country specifically. Even we both not liking it, it has some hidden messages of superiority in it. Have you ever imagined that the Globe is spinning all time? And why, Europe and North America is in the top of the maps? It may not be the intention today, but when it was made, there was a message there. Hugs!
