The North Yorkshire Moors Railway on Wednesday 21st October 2009 following their massive Wartime Weekend. This video shows one of the last days of service from Pickering to Whitby before the line is divided in two to replace the late Bridge 30 between Goathland and Grosmont.
During this work, the line will still operate services between Pickering and Goathland with non mainline certified engines. The Mainline certified Locos will stay at Grosmont in case they are needed on the main line.
There were a number of locos in steam:
-S&D 7F No.53809
-ex.SR 'Schools' Class No.30926 'Repton'
-BR Standard 4 No.76079 (not featured in the video)
-ex.LNER Q6 No.63395
-SR S15 Class No.825 (not featured in the video)

This video is the first to introduce my new and updated title sequence.

  • Fantastic vid mate. Surprisingly steady considering some of its filming from the train lol. Great stuff. Can't believe the engines that theyve managed to main line certify, even if it is only to Whitby and back. Thought they would have had a tough time with that. But, for a section as little used as the Whitby line, apart from NYMR services, I think any engine that can achieve 25mph or more should be used on the line, certified or not. It makes much more sense! lol. Anyway, great vid mate. 5*
