Nassarius (Hima) fraterculus life history. Sequence of mating and pictures of embryonic development. This species shows direct development. Juveniles escape their capsule at about 1mm in shell length and are competent scavengers, sometimes consuming dead conspecifics. This is part of ongoing research and it was created for didactic purposes. All rights reserved.
