You should be able to use the overlay kit if its compatible with windows 8.

Hey, how did you get WIndows 8 to recognise your touch screen and enable it for gestures and the keyboard?

@MrShayBomb I had to install the windows 7 driver for the touch screen so it worked, once it was installed the gestures worked automatically I had to enable the on screen keyboard in the control panel.
